Rydal Water

Taken on a Mamiya RB67 fitted with a 90mm lens. Film was Ilford Delta 400 exposed for 1 second at f16, which was developed in Prescysol.

One of a sequence of shots that I took just after sun up as the morning heat was freeing the lake of the morning mist. Within five minutes of the far lakeside just being discernable the mist had completely disappeared.

My test print showed plenty of detail in the lower half of the negative, comprising the reflections on the water, so this crop concentrates on that part of the frame. Printing at a lower contrast allows shadow detail to remain.

Printed on Kentmere Fineprint silver gelatin paper, developed in Agfa Neutol WA and this version left untoned.
